The Learning Consortium has been an active partner in the Lancashire-wide bid to utilise a potential £600,000 investment from the Office for Civil Society's Transforming Local Infrastructure (TLI) programme.
Working alongside project lead Selnet Ltd (and other key infrastructure organisations in the County) the Consortium has helped to shape the Lancashire TLI proposal of 'SectorNet'. This programme is seeking to transform the delivery of infrastructure support to frontline community, voluntary and civil society organisations through a range of headline measures including:
- establishment of a new trading company to drive change & realise cost-savings
- development of a common brand identity
- exploration of collaboration & merger
- strategic development work with Lancashire County Council and other public sector bodies
- development of two-way working realtionships with the business sector
The Learning Consortium will play an active role in the delivery of the SectorNet programme though a range of key interventions including:
- a detailed market analysis and review of civil society training provision
- development of a 'Civil Society Management School' including bursaries for a range of management development courses
- initiation & facilitation of a series of peer learning networks for infrastructure organisations covering the arts, health and funding advice.
The TLI programme is competitive and it is currently envisaged that around 80 of 150 proposals will be successful. The outcome of the bid will be known by the end of January 2012.
