Lancashire Learning Consortium were organising and hosting partners for a lively conference on the future of learning for young people aged between 14 and 19 held at Turf Moor today.
A key aim of the event was to examine the opportunities for voluntary sector organisations in Lancashire to have a role in supporting these changes and making a difference to young people's lives.
Consortium Development Manager, Jonathan Gilbert, gave a last minute stand-in presentation due to a Government Agency speaker being unable to attend due to the result of the recent General Election. Jonathan's presentation, which is available for download on the right hand side, focussed on examining the likely shifts in policy following the General Election and what this might mean for voluntary sector providers.
Around 100 organisations were represented and delegates were able to articulate the important alternatives the voluntary sector can provide.
